She gave him a look as though he was crazy "Because....I don't want to" she said after a pause. Her excuses were really getting bad by this point.
Deep down she knew that she was not going to be able to keep fighting everything, eventually she was just going to have to bare it. Having him not trust her or being mad at her was not going to help her escape at all.
Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind she followed him to the door, the time where she would have to start baring it was coming very soon, since she was tiring of it as well. With his back to her she quietly layed the brush down, hopefully he would just forget about it.

After a few seconds of sulking he just forgot all about it, no matter, he would get her to do something else. This was always kind of easier with two of them, he could just let them play together. OK so really they most likely they weren't playing they were planning to get out but still, it kept them both entertained and he liked to watch them.
He stopped on the landing and looked back at Gretal. "Kitten back int he woods just now... what did you throw on the floor?" It was her cell phone wasn't it? It had looked like one but he wasn't totally sure, after all why would she throw her cell phone away?

She followed him down the stairs but stopped when he did on the landing.
"My cell phone?" she answered a little confused, why did he want to know that? Earlier she had felt a little dumb about leaving it out there but since it was completly dead and wouldn't turn on anyways she wasn't as mad at herself for leaving it. Plus it could only help her, maybe Hansel or somebody else could find it and maybe somehow figure out what happnened.
"Why do you want to know?" she asked looking suspicious.

"Because i need to go find it" He told her surprised that she hadn't realized that. Well wasn't that obvious? He couldn't just let her phone get found by anyone. It was int he woods, he lived in the woods. Even if they didn't work it out they were still going to come knocking to ask if he had seen her.
"It was a bit silly leaving it out there really wasn't it Kitten" But even if he did find it before someone else did, what could he do with it. She couldn't have it back, she would call people. "I'll throw it in the river" He said, thinking out loud. Yes that was a great idea! Then even if they did find it it would be washed clean of prints and might even make it look as if she fell in.

Ok, what exactly did he want with her phone, even if he did want to use it he couldn’t since it was dead.
“I guess so but it’s of no use to me anyways, so why not leave it out there” she said sighing. It was really depressing to think that if she had charged her stupid phone she could have been home possibly.
“What!?!” she said “Hey that was expensive” she knew she sounded kind of dumb at the moment but it was expensive and when she got out of there she wanted it back.

Well she did have a point. It was her phone and she probably liked it. What was it with girls and cell phones anyway?! He turned around properly and smiled at her "But that way if anyone finds it they will think you drowned!" He said it so happily, as if that were actually a good thing. Well to him it was. So long as it kept them from looking here for her. He wanted to keep that from happening as long as he possibly could.
"You'll be OK here anyway, wile I'm off looking for it" He did sound a little worried though, maybe she wouldn't be OK. He wasn't at all worried about her getting out, he had left them before and they hadn't gotten anything open. Well apart from the basement window they crawled out of but that was shut off now. She might hurt herself though. Was she old enough to be left alone in the house?

She never thought of that, great that was exactly what she needed was for people to not look for her since they thought she drowned. She had never been swimming in her life and Hansel knew that. He would probably believe that she had drowned. It was frustrating how happy he was about that.
She looked up quickly at him when he said he was going to leave her alone. That was perfect she could use that time to try and get out without having to deal with him. There had to be somewhere that wasn’t secured that she could get out at..

He stood still for a moment, half watching her, half lost in thought. How old was she? 16 right? Was that old enough to be left in a house? He had no idea, as he said earlier he didn't like little kids so had never had any, he had no idea at all about what age they could be left alone from. Aw she would be fine. Besides, he really did need to go find her cell phone. He couldn't afford to leave it out there in the woods and risk it being found.
"Okee then, I'll be back real quick ok? Don't worry." He ruffled her hair quickly then turned again and walked off down the stairs. He never did pick up on the fact that she seemed to hate her hair being touched. The witch left the house without another word, locking the door behind him with both key and magic as usual. Where had they been anyway when she threw her phone? He didn't much like the idea of spending all night looking for something that small.

Gretal flinched a little involantaryily when he touched her hair, it wasn't that she completly hated it, she just didn't like it when he did it.
She watched his retreating back and as soon as she heard the door close she sunk down onto one of the stairs and rested her head against the wall. She was going to try everything to see if she could get anything open but now she really wasn't even feeling like it, she didn't think it would do any good.
