It was around midnight when the wonderlander found his way into the stables, meaning the horses where all put away and sleeping. No one should be in here until morning, well unless some kids decided to come in her for a quick roll int he hay or a quiet place to get stoned. The Hatter showed very little interest in the sleeping horses, only looking at them fore a few seconds before he turned his attention on the wooden beams that ran across the stable above him just below the roof. It looked to him like a pretty good place to sit. With that thought in mind the hatter climbed up onto one of the crates at the far end of the stable, then from there he could easily jump up and get a hold of one of the beams. He pulled himself up and crawled along the top quietly, sitting with his back against the wall and his legs straight out across the beam.
It didn't take the hatter long at all to start getting bored but now that he was up here he didn't really want to leave just yet. He would just have to find a way to keep himself entertained up here. Without even thinking about it he pulled out a small dagger from his jeans picket and pushed the point of the blade under one of his fingernails. Slowly he pushed on it, forcing it between his fingernail and skin then tilted it, prying his fingernail of almost completely. It hurt like hell, but the kookie goth found things like this ever so funny. He was giggling quietly to himself already at the pain and the sight of blood.

"i can hear you, come out come out where ever you are"
she sweet little girls voice rang through the quiet night carried by the light summery breeze, she giggled a Little herself unable to keep a straight face, she had been following the hatter for a while now just because it was fun and she had missed him too much to stay hiding from him anymore, she walked into the stables and looked around not seeing him she frowned and looked around, under one of the horses until she saw some blood dripping from up on the rafters, she looked up and there she saw her bestiest friend sat there all alone.
"there you are!"
she said delighted she had found him, she ran to wards the crate he had climbed on and alot less gracefully than the hatter had done she climbed up onto it and then reached for the beam trying to pull herself up.

As always, the Hatter was thrilled to hear Alice's voice. He was even more happy to lean over the side of the beam to see her down there looking under a horse. He sat up properly and swung his legs over the side of the raftings, swinging them back and forth excitedly while he waited for her to look up and see him. That didn't take long at all, his bleeding finger quickly gave him away.
"Hello Alice" He called back as she spotted him, "Where have you been?" He watched her climb up onto the crate and reach for the beam he was sitting on, then moved across it, holding his hand out to help her up. "Don't fall, this house smells of horse and you don't want to get dirty" He told her with a nod.

she was glad to have the help to climb up the rafters, she smiled as she sat on the wood and looked at hatter so glad she had snuck up on him.
"i was following you being all sneaky and stuff"
she said with a rpud smile on her face, she began twirling her long blonde hair around her finger thinking bout the horsies below and lookingnat the hatters finger that nolonger had a finger nail, it was all red and bloody and it made her giggle.
"oh no hatter, your finger nail will be all lonely without a finger to keep it company, maybe we should stick it back, i can get some nails"
to her this sounded perfectly logical of course, it would be alone and it needed to be stuck back on his finger and why not use nails? it would make sure it stuck properly.

After pulling Alice up onto the wooden beam with him, the Hatter shuffled back over to where he had been sitting. "I didn't notice" He told her, shaking his head. That was true, he really hadn't known that she had been following him.
He sighed as she suggested putting his fingernail back on. He really was not friends with his fingernails, they kept growing back all the time without is permission and it was so annoying. "Isn't there a way to just stop them growing at all?" He asked, thinking that putting a nail through the end of his finger might be fun, it might even be worth having his fingernails put back on.

Alice had to think hard about this one, could he make them not grow back at all like ever? she didint know, though she had an idea that if he cut the ends of his fingers off they wouldnt grow back, but surely he wanted his nails.
"you could cut off the ends of your fingers, but then youd have no nails and what if you ever wanted to scratch someone, or yourself if you get an itch and you need to scratch and you have no nails you woudl just be tickl;ing yourself with your fingers"
This made her giggle thinkgin about hatter with an itch trying to scratch himself with stumps for fingers and then she thought about him trying to scratch someone else and just leaving a trail of blood on thier face, wow that was funny.

Ok she did have a really good point there, his nails where good fun when it came to scratching people, especially in there eyes. He giggled to himself quietly just thinking about it, then nodded his his head. "You're right" He agreed, looking don at his fingers again. It still didn;t mean he wasn't going to carry on prying them off though, that was way to much fun.
A horse made a noise suddenly, making the Hatter jump. Silly horse, standing in that little pen thing flicking its tail. "What are they doing anyway?" He asked Alice. She should know, she was from this other world, even if she didn't seem like it anymore.
